Lifetime Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Its "Stop Breast Cancer for Life" Initiative with PSA Featuring Lyndsy Fonseca, Karrueche Tran and Jackie Cruz






With the numbers on the rise for younger women getting diagnosed with breast cancer, Lifetime has centered the network's annual Stop Breast Cancer for Life campaign to emphasize that breast cancer doesn't discriminate based on age and early detection can save lives. Hitting the 30th anniversary of the campaign, this year's PSA supporting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, features the stars of several Lifetime movies - Lyndsy Fonesca (who previously starred in the anthology series, FIVE, centered on breast cancer), Karrueche Tran and Jackie Cruz - who all fall under this demographic of women under 40.

Breast cancer recently became the most commonly diagnosed cancer globally, accounting for 12% of all new cancer cases worldwide according to the World Health Organization. Breast cancer is also the number one most diagnosed cancer for women. One in eight women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Every fourteen seconds, somewhere in the world, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. Women under 40 have seen an 8% rise in diagnoses. Every two minutes, a woman in the US is diagnosed with breast cancer and over 40,000 Americans die from breast cancer each year. But thanks to research, there are over 4 million survivors. Research is the reason millions of women are not just surviving from breast cancer, but now also thriving.

Long at the forefront in the ongoing effort to end breast cancer for over 30 years, Lifetime's Stop Breast Cancer for Life initiative has been dedicated to offering women the most up-to-date, comprehensive information about the disease. This year's campaign will feature four breast cancer themed movies available on VOD, the Lifetime app, and mylifetime.com during the month of October. The inspiring stories of resilience, courage and strength include the breast cancer short films anthology FIVE from directors Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore, Alicia Keyes, Penelope Spheeris and Patty Jenkins starring Lyndsy Fonseca, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Patricia Clarkson and many others; Four Extraordinary Women about one man's emotional journey as four loved ones battle breast cancer, Matters of Life & Dating, and the Critics' Choice nominated movie, List of a Lifetime, starring Kelly Hu, Sylvia Kwan, Patricia Velasquez and icon Shannen Doherty who lost her battle with breast cancer earlier this year, following the story of a woman who searches for the daughter she gave up for adoption after she is diagnosed with breast cancer.


Lifetime Announces "Buried Alive and Survived" Starring Eva Marcille and Tyler Lepley







Inspired by gripping and real stories, Lifetime greenlights Buried Alive and Survived starring Eva Marcille (The Real Housewives of Atlanta, All the Queen's Men) and Tyler Lepley (P-Valley, Harlem). Set to premiere on Saturday, September 21 at 8p/7c, the movie follows a woman, who miraculously survives being buried alive by her ex-husband. The movie joins Lifetime's fall slate of Ripped from the Headlines movies.

Buried Alive and Survived follows Alicia (Marcille) who finds herself facing a terrifying ordeal after her ex-husband, Victor (Lepley) is released from prison. Determined to protect herself and their son Malcolm, Alicia resists Victor's demands to reconcile and reunite as a family. But in a twisted turn of events, Victor traps Alicia underground and buries her... alive! Surrounded by darkness and dirt, Alicia pushes down the panic and fear of suffocating and manages to claw her way of out of her grave. Now freed, she searches desperately for her son, knowing his safety hinges on staying one step ahead of Victor's obsession.

Buried Alive and Survived is produced for Lifetime by Swirl Films. Abbey Sibucao, Ron Robinson, and Eric Tomosunas serve as executive producers. Manu Boyer (Girl in the Basement) directs the teleplay by Gregory Small & Richard Blaney. Based on a Story by Nigel Campbell.

"Nightmare in the Desert" Starring Newcomer Gia De Sauvage, Allen Williamson & Tristan J. Watson on Lifetime









Lifetime kicks off its Fall movie slate with the new thriller Nightmare in the Desert, premiering Sunday, September 15 at 8p/7c. Inspired by actual events, the film features up and coming actress Gia De Sauvage in her first leading role as a young woman who returns to her hometown, hoping to put her past to rest but instead finds herself in a battle for survival in the desert. Nightmare in the Desert also stars Allen Williamson (Abduction) and Tristan J. Watson in his first major role.

After her father's passing, Shae (De Sauvage) returns to her childhood home outside of Joshua Tree National Park with her boyfriend Chris (Watson) to tie up loose ends and sell her childhood home. To make the most of their time there, Shae and Chris set out on a hike through the park where he plans to surprise her with a proposal. But a mysterious figure begins to track the couple through the desert, determined to prevent the proposal from happening, even if it means murder.

Allen Williamson stars as Shae's childhood friend, Burke Elder.

Nightmare in the Desert is produced for Lifetime by Johnson Production Group. Executive producers are Timothy O. Johnson and Joseph Wilka and co-executive producer is Lisa Frye Alford. Sam Irvin directs from a script written by Richard Pierce.

Taye Diggs and Meagan Good to Star in "Forever" on Lifetime







Lifetime acquires the indie film Forever starring and executive produced by Taye Diggs (How Stella Got Her Groove Back, All American, The Best Man) and Meagan Good (Divorce in the Black, Harlem, Think Like a Man) to join as part of the network's Terry McMillan Presents movie banner. Set to premiere Saturday, August 24 at 8/7c, the film is directed by Charles Murray (Outer Range, Luke Cage, Things Never Said), who also executive produces. Terry McMillan Presents: Forever marks the second film under the previously announced umbrella, which also includes Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted By Love starring and executive produced by Garcelle Beauvais, which will debut the week prior on August 17.

In Terry McMillan Presents: Forever, Johnnie (Diggs) returns home after a tour of military service, where he's unexpectedly met with divorce papers. With his life at a crossroads, the last thing he expected was to fall for the local policewoman Carlie (Good), who pulled him over for speeding. Determined to win her heart, his first hurdle is winning over her three daughters. In order to be the man Carlie needs him to be, Johnnie must let go of old fears and regret he's held onto in order to find love and learn the true meaning of family.

McMillan is best known for her novels turned hit films, How Stella Got Her Groove Back and Waiting to Exhale. Terry McMillan Presents: Forever marks a reunion for McMillan and Diggs, who starred in How Stella Got Her Groove Back. Terry McMillan Presents movies focus on the love and lives of African American women.

Terry McMillan Presents: Forever is produced by The Ninth House in association with GroupM Motion Entertainment. Taye Diggs, Meagan Good, and Terry McMillan executive produce. Charles Murray executive produces and directs from a script written by Bart Baker. Richard Foster and Chet Fenster are executive producers for GroupM Motion Entertainment. Emmy-winning producer Shelby Stone, Autumn Federici and Jake Helgren serve as producers for The Ninth House.

It's always good to hear news like this. You is an American psychological thriller television series that was developed by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble. It is produced by Warner Horizon Television, in association with Alloy Entertainment and A&E Studios.

The first season of the hit Netflix drama is based on the 2014 novel by Caroline Kepnes and follows Joe Goldberg, a New York bookstore manager and serial killer who falls in love with a customer named Guinevere Beck and quickly develops an extreme, toxic, and delusional obsession. 

You premiered on Lifetime in 2018. It began streaming on Netflix later that year. The second season was released exclusively on Netflix in 2019. On January 14, 2020, the series was renewed for a third season by Netflix, which is set to be released sometime in 2021
