Lily Brooks O’Briant Undergoes Major Surgery

 

The Young and the Restless star Lily Brooks O’Briant, who plays Lucy Romalotti on the long-running CBS soap, recently shared a deeply personal update about her ongoing battle with endometriosis — a condition that affects 1 in 10 women worldwide.

On Instagram, Lily wrote:

“Endometriosis is a disease that affects 1 in 10 women. I am 1 in 10. This past week I had my second endometriosis surgery. My first was two years ago at age 17 where @seckinmd removed 21 lesions. I am incredibly grateful to have been treated by 3 of the very best Endometriosis excision surgeons in the world (seriously ask Google) @camrannezhatmd @seckinmd and @drchu_endodoc . The trip to NYC was pretty tough on me last surgery so I had my surgery in CA with Dr. Nezhat who removed 24 lesions from my ovaries, fallopian tubes, intestines, nerves in my back, bladder & more. I was doing everything I could to manage my endo symptoms — anti-inflammatory diet, supplements, acupuncture, lymphatic drainage massages, managing stress & more — but needed this second surgery. I am so grateful to be healing now; my mom got some very silly videos of me after being under anesthesia.”

 

For Lily, the journey hasn’t been easy. She had her first surgery at just 17, a time when most teens are thinking about prom and college, not complex medical procedures. But through every challenge, she’s faced her diagnosis with grace and honesty.

Her decision to open up publicly shines a light on a disease that often goes unseen, even though it affects millions. By sharing her story, Lily is giving a voice to others who might be suffering silently — showing that it’s okay to talk about pain, to seek help, and to keep fighting for answers.

As she continues her recovery surrounded by love and support, fans and friends from around the world have been flooding her comments with messages of encouragement and compassion.

Is Ebony Obsidian Leaving Sistas on BET as Karen?

 

Fans of BET’s Sistas are buzzing after a major moment in the most recent episode — Karen (played by Ebony Obsidian) told Aaron she’s ready to pack her things and leave Atlanta. That line hit hard, and now viewers are asking: Is Ebony Obsidian actually leaving the show?

While there’s been no official confirmation from BET or Obsidian herself, the emotional weight of Karen’s scene has definitely stirred up speculation. After everything Karen has been through — the heartbreak, the complicated relationships, the pregnancy, the drama with Zac — some fans are wondering if the writers are setting her up for a quiet exit.

Ebony Obsidian has been with Sistas since the very beginning, premiering back in 2019. For nine solid seasons, she’s been a core part of the show’s heartbeat, bringing depth, vulnerability, and fire to Karen’s character. It’s hard to imagine Sistas without her. But as the series evolves and other characters take center stage, it’s possible that Karen’s story arc could be reaching a turning point.

Of course, it could just be a classic Sistas cliffhanger — and Karen might change her mind next episode. We’ve seen that before. Still, the fact that she’s talking about leaving the city entirely does make us wonder if this is more than just drama — it could be the beginning of a major cast shakeup.

For now, all we can do is watch and wait. But one thing’s for sure: if Ebony Obsidian is planning her exit, it would mark the end of an era for the show. And we’re not ready.
